This book - and an exhibition based on it - started life as an element of Jaqui Molden from Bangor\'s coursework for her degree. The aim was to photograph someone at work and to capture their daily routine. John Watkin Jones, a local hill shepherd in Sowdonia volunteered, not realising just what he was letting himself in for!

At the time, little did the photographer or the shepherd know that it would develop into a three year project, including hundreds of images of the man and his flock through the four seasons.

"I hope that this book will give a small insight into the life of John caring for his sheep in an area which he describes as his square mile," says Jacqui.
