Gwales Review
There are only 76 pages in this little pocket book anthology, but, as we all know, things of great worth can come in small packages, and indeed Dewi Roberts has given us something very worthy. We are all aware that the words of song, verse and prose are indigenous to the Welsh people, and within Landscapes we have some of the best to dip into again and again. Unadulterated nostalgia in 'View' by Peter Gruffydd, where his words depict pure enchantment; R.S.Thomas's 'Arrival' encompassing so accurately the Welsh rural village; Gerard Manley Hopkins's journal of 1874 and Gwyn Jones's 'Exaltation' from `A Prospect of Wales' in 1948 tell us in many ways that nothing really ever changes.

I particularly enjoyed Herbert Williams's ‘A Celebration’, something to make one smile when skies are grey, metaphorically speaking, and Hilary Llewellyn-Williams's ‘The Trespasser’. Her writing flows with so much ease, her descriptions are so accurate that one can be there 'sleating' blackcurrants, gathering narcissi, and in our mind's eye making a date to come back again to that garden in the autumn, scrumping.

With over 40 authors contributing there is something to enthral everyone - and without doubt Dewi Roberts has produced a masterpiece of Place.
