The visualisation of mountain scenery from the mid eighteenth century to the present day. Snowdonia became a subject for landscape artists comparatively early. Pictorial and written records of visits date from the middle of the eighteenth century. It was a combination of factors that made this region a favoured location for both artists and visitors.
