Further Information:
In 2021, when they began their hill walking, excitement was building for the people of this beautiful peninsula. They had finally been given the go ahead to begin preparations for hosting the 2023 National Eisteddfod in Boduan. This had been postponed from two years previously due to the pandemic. In this book, as well as regularly rambling off the hills to share her memories and discoveries related to the walks, Jean also describes the eisteddfod related revelations that she made.
Learning Welsh has opened many unexpected doors to Jean as a regular visitor to Llŷn, and has enhanced her appreciation of the culture of the area. Throughout the book, she also introduces some of her favourite music, art, and literature, much of which originates from this area. When you’re feeling in need of refreshments, you can dip into her cafe recommendations, and as she says, ‘there are so many wonderful examples of these in Llŷn.’
