Further Information:
In between are many 'Seams of people': a series focusing on residents in a Care Home, as well as characters and scenes in diverse locations such as Belfast and Mumbai.
These seams comprise layers of satire, imagery and narrative, together with closely-observed personal responses to relatives and the natural world. They can be buried like memories of attending church as a child, or brought to the surface literally, like the grass sculpture of a pit pony. Seams of sound and sensibility, ones which are both singular and common.
"Genuine, powerful polemic has first to be genuine powerful poetry. Few can claim to stand in the lineage of the Valleys poets of protest Idris Davies or Harri Webb, but Mike Jenkins is one of them." Frank Olding in Planet
